Global technology company ASUS has strengthened its footprint in Africa with the launch of its first flagship retail store on the continent, choosing Nigeria as the location for the landmark investment in partnership with leading e-commerce and retail platform Konga. The new outlet, situated in Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos, marks a significant step in ASUS’ long-term expansion strategy across Africa.
The flagship store was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh (SAN), alongside senior executives from ASUS and Konga during a ceremony that brought together industry stakeholders, technology enthusiasts and business leaders.
Nigeria Chosen as Gateway to African Expansion
According to ASUS, selecting Nigeria for its first African flagship outlet reflects the country’s strategic importance as one of the continent’s fastest-growing technology markets.
The company said the investment demonstrates its confidence in Nigeria’s expanding digital economy and its growing population of consumers, businesses and creators seeking premium computing solutions. Through its collaboration with Konga, ASUS intends to bring its global product portfolio closer to African customers while enhancing after-sales support and customer engagement.
Immersive Retail Experience for Consumers
The newly opened flagship store has been designed as more than a conventional electronics outlet.
Visitors will be able to experience ASUS products firsthand through interactive demonstrations while receiving expert guidance on product selection and technical support. The showroom features the company’s flagship product lines, including Zenbook, Vivobook, ProArt, ROG (Republic of Gamers), TUF Gaming, All-in-One PCs, desktops and other computing solutions targeted at professionals, gamers, students and content creators.
The initiative aims to provide consumers with a more personalised retail experience while strengthening confidence in genuine ASUS products and official support services.
ASUS Reaffirms Commitment to Nigeria
Speaking at the launch, Aaron Tsai, General Manager for ASUS EMEA, described the opening of the flagship store as a major milestone in the company’s African growth strategy.
He noted that Nigeria represents one of the continent’s most vibrant technology markets and said the partnership with Konga would enable customers to experience ASUS innovations in a dedicated environment while reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to the region.
Konga Sees Continental Opportunity
For Konga, the partnership extends beyond the Nigerian market.
Chief Operating Officer Dave Omoregie said the flagship store is intended to serve customers across Africa, leveraging Nigeria’s position as a technology hub and its youthful, digitally connected population.
He added that the collaboration aligns with Konga’s broader vision of improving access to global technology brands while delivering premium retail experiences that support digital adoption across the continent.
Government Welcomes Investment
The Federal Government also welcomed the investment, describing it as a positive contribution to Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem.
Minister Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh said initiatives of this nature support technology adoption, encourage innovation and create new economic opportunities by strengthening the country’s digital economy.
He noted that attracting global technology brands to establish a stronger local presence aligns with the government’s broader agenda of positioning Nigeria as a leading destination for innovation and digital investment in Africa.
Launch Event Showcases Latest Technologies
The official unveiling featured live product demonstrations, interactive technology experiences and promotional activities designed to introduce customers to ASUS’ latest innovations.
Attendees explored a range of devices built for business productivity, creative work, education and gaming, while benefiting from exclusive launch-day offers and consultations with ASUS product specialists.
Boost for Nigeria’s Technology Retail Market
Industry observers believe the launch signals growing confidence among international technology manufacturers in Nigeria’s retail and consumer electronics market.
As demand for high-performance laptops, gaming systems and AI-enabled computing devices continues to rise, the establishment of dedicated flagship stores is expected to improve customer access to authentic products, warranty services and technical support.
For ASUS, the Lagos flagship store represents not only a new retail destination but also a strategic base for expanding its presence across Africa through stronger partnerships, enhanced customer experiences and continued investment in one of the continent’s largest technology markets.
