Terroso Group, through its subsidiary Terroso Agriculture, has joined the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) in a strategic move aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s food preservation infrastructure and reducing losses across the agricultural value chain.
The partnership brings Terroso Agriculture into the global association representing companies involved in temperature-controlled warehousing, logistics and transportation.
According to the company, the collaboration will provide access to international expertise, industry standards, research and strategic partnerships as it works to develop modern cold storage facilities, temperature-controlled logistics and technology-driven preservation solutions in Nigeria.
Cold Chain Gaps Threaten Food Security
Nigeria continues to face significant challenges in preserving agricultural produce after harvest, with inadequate cold chain infrastructure contributing to food losses, lower farmer incomes and constraints on the competitiveness of the country’s agricultural sector.
Terroso Agriculture said its partnership with GCCA is designed to help address the infrastructure gap by supporting investments and partnerships that improve the handling and movement of perishable goods from farms to consumers.
