Nigerian people-management technology company Talstack has launched a new leave-management product, Time Off, as it expands its platform into a broader AI-enabled human resources management system.
The module, launched on August 27, 2026, is designed to help organisations manage employee leave requests, approvals and balances while giving managers and HR teams better visibility into workforce availability and compliance.
Moving Leave Management Beyond Spreadsheets
Talstack says Time Off is intended to replace the fragmented processes many organisations still use to manage employee absences, including spreadsheets, emails, forms and messaging applications.
Through the platform, employees can submit and monitor leave requests while checking their available leave balances. Managers can review requests and assess team availability, helping organisations maintain adequate staffing levels when employees are away.
HR administrators can also configure leave policies according to their organisation’s requirements.
The system covers different categories of employee leave, including vacation, sick leave and parental leave, bringing requests, approvals and balance updates into one centralised platform.
Centralised Records for HR Teams
A key feature of Time Off is its central record of employee leave activity.
Talstack says every request, approval and adjustment to leave balances will be recorded in one location. This is intended to improve record-keeping while making it easier for organisations to generate reports, conduct internal reviews and meet compliance requirements.
The centralised approach could also reduce the administrative burden associated with manually reconciling employee leave records across multiple systems.
Part of a Wider HR Technology Platform
The launch forms part of Talstack’s broader plan to build an AI-enabled Human Resources Management System (HRMS) covering different stages of the employee lifecycle.
The company’s platform already combines performance management and learning functions. Organisations can use it to establish and monitor employee goals, align individual objectives with broader business priorities, conduct 360-degree reviews and appraisals, and maintain ongoing feedback.
Its learning tools also allow businesses to provide training through Talstack’s existing content catalogue or their own materials.
With Time Off added to the platform, Talstack is moving towards a more integrated system that covers employee management, development and administrative processes in one environment.
Talstack Targets Simpler Employee Management
Talstack co-founder and CEO Seni Sulyman said the company develops its products after spending significant time with users to understand shortcomings in existing HR systems.
According to Sulyman, the new module is designed around simplicity and ease of use, whether an organisation currently manages leave manually, through spreadsheets or with existing HR software.
The approach reflects a broader shift among HR technology providers towards replacing disconnected administrative processes with centralised digital systems.
A Growing HR Technology Market
For businesses, leave management may appear to be a routine administrative function, but inaccurate records can affect staffing, payroll, compliance and employee experience.
By digitising the process, platforms such as Time Off are seeking to give employees greater visibility into their entitlements while giving managers and HR teams more reliable information for workforce planning.
Talstack, which was founded in 2023, describes itself as a people-management platform focused on helping organisations build resilient and high-performing teams.
The company says Time Off is available from August 27, 2026, adding another component to its wider HR technology offering as it works towards a more comprehensive digital employee-management platform.
